Just Sit With The Silence

Instant gratification is a bit of a curse.

OR maybe even a lot of a curse.

We want it all now, if not yesterday and that is grand except when waiting on the most important things.

Intimacy with the Divine is built in the silence.

A great blog post is built in the silence.

Great art of any kind is built in the silence.

With the person who is not too scared to sit doing nothing for a little while until the whoosh of inner knowing arrives.

These days, I can feel it.

And when I get that feeling, I need to sit in the silence.

Not try to rush it.

And not try to preempt it with the desperate thinking that I need, I need, I need something to write, something to say and I need it now.

It never really takes all that long but when you are action oriented like me, even a few more seconds can feel like an eternity.

And sometimes after the sitting in the silence, all I get is the one word

And I have to dare to begin.

Not knowing where it will go.

Not knowing if it will even be any good.
